On July 12, 2008, RedState launched a new version of its site, called RS3, introducing new features such as the ability to organize contributor and user diaries by state; action centers allowing users to take action related to emerging political issues; links to share posts via other networking sites such as Facebook, Digg, and MySpace; and easier searching between related content on the Internet.

In August 2015, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was disinvited from the annual RedState gathering following controversial statements he made about American journalist Megyn Kelly; Kelly was invited to the gathering instead.[1] RedState was then one of the main centers of conservative opposition to Trump's campaign for the Presidency, with most of its writers and editors vocally opposing Trump.[20][21]
That same month, a RedState contributor wrote an article criticizing Tammy Duckworth's defense of an undocumented immigrant Army veteran who was deported.[23] The RedState article said that Tammy Duckworth "really doesn't have a leg to stand on"; Duckworth is a veteran who lost both her legs in Iraq in 2004.[23] RedState's assistant editor, Andrea Ruth, who is also a double amputee, revised the statement.
In April 2018, there were mass firings of staff at RedState, including the managing editor, Caleb Howe.[2] CNN reported that multiple sources claimed that those who were fired were targeted for removal because they were insufficiently supportive of President Trump.[2] One of those writers fired was Patrick Frey, who alleged that all of those fired were "Trump critics". Former RedState founder Erick Erickson also stated that it "seems the dividing line was loyalty to the President".[24]
Want to visit Canada when the border opens to vaccinated Americans on August 9? Travelers will be required to download the free ArriveCAN app, which verifies the vaccination status of incoming travelers. Anyone entering Canada must first upload their passport information, Covid-19 vaccination documentation and test results, and the app provides a digital receipt to show at the border.
With no federal digital solution in the United States, each state is left to decide whether and how it will provide residents with a way to access state-verified records in a digital format. And Americans, regardless of where they live, have more options than they may realize.
A small handful of states have developed their own digital apps that can provide a QR code that verifies the vaccination status of residents. These QR code is typically PIN-protected so nobody else can access your records. New York has its Excelsior Pass, Hawaii has its Hawaii Safe Travels system and California has its own Digital Covid-19 Vaccine Record.
Eight more states and territories use a platform called MyIRMobile, which allows residents to obtain their immunization records on a PDF that can be either printed or stored on their phones. MyIRMobile is available in Arizona, District of Columbia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Dakota, Washington and West Virginia, and it is rolling out soon in Puerto Rico.
Nearly four dozen international airlines have adopted the free Travel Pass, which is backed by the International Air Transport Association. Both British Airways and American Airlines use an alternative solution called VeriFLY.

Is North Carolina historically a red state, as my Generation Z college students reflexively write? Or is it historically a blue state, as we of the Baby Boom Generation remember? The answer depends, of course, largely on your date of birth.
You may fill out these forms using an online Form Filler or by downloading a PDF of the application. The Form Filler tool is a shared resource for four of our forms. With a growing number of patients in states that now prohibit abortion traveling for the procedure, Planned Parenthood says it will soon open its first mobile abortion clinic in the country, in southern Illinois.
The mobile clinic will begin offering consultations and dispensing abortion pills later this year. It will operate within Illinois, where abortion remains legal, but will be able to travel closer to neighboring states' borders, reducing the distance many patients travel for the procedure.
Illinois has become a hub for people from other parts of the Midwest and South who've become unable to get abortions in their home states as a result of this summer's U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
Anticipating that possibility, Planned Parenthood opened a large clinic in 2019 in Fairview Heights, Illinois, just across the state line from St. Louis. Missouri had some of the nation's strictest abortion laws even before the court released the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision, and state officials moved almost immediately to implement abortion bans in response to it.
"We are all trying to work together to meet the exponential increase in the number of patients that are traveling from banned states to what we're calling 'haven states' for abortion care," Yamelsie Rodriguez said. "It's an all-hands-on-deck moment."
Planned Parenthood says between June, when the Dobbs decision was issued, and August, it saw nearly a four-fold increase in patients coming from outside Missouri or Illinois to its Fairview Heights clinic. The organization also is preparing to open a new family planning clinic in Rolla, Mo., in early November. Rodriguez said it's part of a larger push to expand services including contraception, STI screening, and transgender care, and to provide reproductive healthcare in underserved, rural parts of the state.
The overturning of Roe has set up likely battles between states with a patchwork of different abortion laws. Earlier this year, a Missouri state lawmaker unsuccessfully proposed allowing people to file lawsuits against those who help Missouri residents get abortions out of state - which she deemed "abortion tourism." That proposal failed, but legal experts say it's unclear how clashes between state laws will be resolved in the future.
The Conscious Discipline Brain State Model becomes a framework for us to understand the internal brain-body states that are most likely to produce certain behaviors in children and in ourselves. With this awareness, we learn to consciously manage our own thoughts and emotions so we can help children learn to do the same. The goal of this model is not to turn into neuroscientists, but to provide a simplified brain model as a means for increasing our self-awareness so we can respond consciously to the needs of the moment.
With this ability to self-regulate, we are then able to teach children to do the same. By doing this, we help children who are physically aggressive (survival state) or verbally aggressive (emotional state) become more integrated so they can learn and use problem-solving skills (executive state). When we understand the brain state model, we can clearly see the importance of building our homes, schools and businesses on the core principles of safety, connection and problem-solving.
Conscious Discipline empowers us to be conscious of brain-body states in ourselves and children. It then provides us with the practical skills we need to manage our thoughts, feeling and actions. With this ability to self-regulate, we are able to teach children to do the same.
Executive State is the optimal state for problem-solving and learning. As we learn to regulate and integrate our internal state to be one of relaxed alertness, we are able access our own brilliance. We are empowered to change and make wise choices. An integrated executive state frees us from past conditioning, attunes us to the feelings and experiences of others, enables us to remain focused enough to set and achieve goals, and allows us to consciously respond instead of automatically react to life events.
